PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY

This policy governs the collection, use and disclosure of personal data submitted to LIMN Law Corporation (“LIMN” or “we” or “us”), and explains how we handle personal data of individuals and comply with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore and its regulation(s) (“PDPA”). In this policy, “personal data” shall have the meaning ascribed to it in the PDPA.

 

Collection of Personal Data

We collect personal data from clients, business contacts, partners, contractors and other individuals. Such personal data may be provided to us during meetings, telephone conversations, emails, through our websites or provided by third parties.

We collect these personal data when it is necessary for the purposes to provide you professional services, business purposes, to meet the purposes for which you have submitted the information or in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

If you are acting as an intermediary or supply us with information regarding a third party, you undertake that you are an authorised representative of such third party and that you have obtained all necessary consents from such third party to the collection, processing, use and disclosure by us of their personal data.

 

Use of Personal Data

We collect and use your personal data when providing the professional services which we are engaged for, namely:

  • to provide our professional services;
  • for general management purposes, such as invoicing and account management;
  • for recruitment purposes;
  • to comply with the anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist financing and Know-Your Client rules set out in the Legal Profession (Professional Conduct) Rules;
  • to send you legal updates, service offerings, announcements and event invitations; or
  • all other purposes related to our business.

 

Disclosure of Personal Data to Third Parties

We do not disclose your personal data to third parties except when we have your consent or deemed consent, or when required by law, or when required to do so in the ordinary course of our work or to exercise or defend our legal rights.

 

To access and Correction of Personal Data

Should you want to view or correct your personal data which we have collected and stored, please contact the Solicitor in charge of your work or our Data Protection Officer. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time.
